Roadtrip's itinerary: the route on the map with driving time, distance and countries leg by leg

Three parts. One trip.

Create a trip and pick the parts you need – the Itinerary is always included, the Budget and Travel Fund are optional.

Drive mode in Roadtrip: the map ticks off stops and shows the distance to the next one

Itinerary

Set your starting point and add the stops – the app works out distance, driving time and arrival times leg by leg and fills in the countries you pass. And once you're driving, stops are ticked off automatically on the map.

The budget screen with remaining total, per-day amounts and categories with caps

Budget

Categories with their own caps – the suggestions adapt to how many you are and how you travel. Every card shows what's left and what it stretches to per day. No nasty surprises on the way home.

The travel fund with amount saved so far, goal and saved entries

Travel Fund

Save up for the trip in advance and see how far you've come towards the goal. During the trip purchases are deducted automatically, so you always know what's left in the fund.

Everything for the driving holiday

Built for real trips – from planning on the sofa to the last fill-up on the way home.

A route that plans itself

Set the stops and the app works out distance, driving time and arrival times – drawing the route on the map, country by country.

Search along the leg

Find fuel, food, toilets and parking along your exact stretch – every suggestion shows how far into the leg it is.

Your favourite chains

Pick favourite chains per country and the map shows only those. If none are nearby, everything shows as usual.

Receipt scanning

Point the camera at the receipt and amount, date, store and litres are read right on the phone – you see everything before you save.

Rates from the ECB

Enter the amount in euros or any of the trip's currencies and it converts at the day's rate – or your own if you exchanged cash.

Drive mode

Stops are ticked off as you pass, the map dims the road behind you and shows exactly what's left to the next stop.

Ferry ticket with reminder

Add the ticket with departure and booking number and get a reminder two hours before – no digging through your inbox.

Travel fund

Save up in advance and tick off the deposits together – the trip is paid for before you even get in the car.

Everyone sees the same trip on their own phone and the owner decides who can change what. Syncs between iPhone and iPad.

Apple Watch

Next stop with distance, what's left in the budget and new purchases – straight from your wrist.

Statistics

Spending per day, totals per country and average price per litre or kWh – you always know where the money went.

Export and backup

Export the whole trip to a file whenever you like – and get an automatic backup before a trip is deleted.

Built for the road

Roadtrip is made for what a driving holiday is actually like – coverage disappears, plans change, and the ferry leaves at six.

Where the money went

The statistics show spending per day, totals per country and a log of every fill-up or charge – with the average price per litre or kWh. So you can answer the question everyone asks afterwards: what did the trip actually cost?

Statistics with spending per day, fill-ups along the way and totals per country

Offline first

Built for the car – where coverage runs out. The important things survive without a connection:

  • The calculated route and all times remain when coverage disappears
  • Exchange rates are stored for offline use
  • Only map tiles and searches need a connection – the rest keeps working

The same trip on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch

Everything syncs via iCloud – plan on the big screen, drive with your phone and keep track from your wrist.

Plan on iPad

More room for the map, the route and the budget – perfect for the planning evening on the sofa. The trip you set up on the iPad is on everyone's iPhone straight away.

Roadtrip on iPad: the full-screen map with the route through Germany

A glance at your wrist

The next stop and how far it is, what's left in the budget and how the travel fund is doing – without picking up your phone. Log a purchase straight from the watch.
